Albert Pujols and the Cardinals.... Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets....NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the players union. Contract talks... contract squawks
It seems money and contracts is all the talk in team sports these days. Talk radio can't get enough of it. Listeners apparently lap it up or they wouldn't talk about it so much. Get ready fans, 10 years 300 million for Pujols seems realistic.

Nothing Guaranteed |
But golf won't go there. In golf... there is no 10 year contract. And for the majority, its a 1 year deal. Even golf's version of Pujols has to start January at zero.. with no guarantees of salary based on performance. Golfers are really guaranteed nothing... and the beauty of the sport is that the carrot dangles in front of D.A. Points just like it does Tiger or Phil. Basically, golfers are gamblers.
There is no "negotiation" for a spot on the money list... and there is no sense of free agency to set the market value of a player.
In golf.. what I like most... is that its not what someone's willing to pay.... it's all about what you're able to earn.
