Working with one of my favorites - Charlie Rymer |
Here is the link to my Golf Channel goodbye - which was hardly easy.
KRAIG KANN GOODBYE
Wondered all day if I could get that out in a coherent matter. I can't tell you how much the Golf Channel has meant to me, my family and my career. Gave me the chance to talk about one of my favorite sports, gave me a chance to meet people I'd never dreamed I could, and it gave me the chance to take my career beyond television as well.
Truth be told, for the last few years I have been doing a lot of thinking about where my career path had taken me and what I might like to be doing in 5 years or 10. In March of 2010, I decided to launch HTK Media - a media communication/consulting company. Don't get me wrong, none of this would be possible without The Golf Channel and the great people I have worked with over 17 years. I fully realize that. It is more than just a niche network devoted to golf. It's a "brand" and it's been a thrill to have people watch with such a passion. The Golf Channel is headed for even bigger things and I'm so fortunate to have been a part of it. I hope that in some small way I've made it a little bit better by being there.
And now, it's a new chapter. To be called upon by a major professional sports organization like the LPGA is flattering. To be wanted for my media experience and communication skills is uplifting. And I can't wait to take on the new challenge that has been offered to me. No question, HTK Media (www.HTKnow.com) has helped me to gain this opportunity. Here is the release sent late last night by the LPGA regarding my new position.
KRAIG KANN NEW POSITION
To all of those who have supported me over the years, I can't thank you enough. To all of those I'll soon be working with - I can't wait. More to come on this blog site. Folks, I feel blessed and fortunate - great things are happening at the LPGA and I'm ready to take it to the next level and beyond!
Congrats, Kanner.
