Get up, Get up, Get up.... EARLY RYDER CUP!

What are you usually doing at 2:45 a.m. eastern time? Most people feel that nothing good really happens after midnight. But this could be really good.
Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson tee off against Lee Westwood and MArtin Kaymer at 2:45 eastern. Live golf on ESPN.... so what do we do? Do we go to bed and wake up? OR do we never go to bed? Or do we "tivo" and just wake up and watch - sans the commercials.
Today's media world is so much different than it was back in 1993. Aside from the fact that the U.S. hasn't won on European soil since that year.... the internet is now huge and there's a "ticker" on every sports and news network. Bottom line... it's tough to NOT KNOW what happened.
By the way... in 1993... they were using balata golf balls and Davis Love III was using a wooden driver! My how things have changed.
Nobody can believe that Jim Furyk is sitting... nobody can believe that Pavin tossed out two rookies as his "anchor" team in the morning session.
Can Overton and Watson handle the pressure? Better hope so. The United States needs 14 points to retain the cup... better not wait til Sunday's singles to need all 12. Fast start is a good idea.
I leave you with two things.... In 4-Ball... since 1985... Europe leads 57.5 points to 38.5. Tomorrow is the 5th time in the last 25 years that a Ryder Cup has started with 4-Ball matches. EACH TIME... Europe has won the Ryder Cup.
Corey.... pressure's on. And that last thing? When you do turn on the television... 90% chance of rain. Enjoy the matches!
