LPGA - Aiming Higher, Whan - ting More

The LPGA has 7 events left this season... including the tour championship which has a great new home at Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando.
But the biggest event of them all.. when you consider where this tour is.. and where its headed... is probably the one that played out today in New York.
Mike Whan - Dynamic Leader
Commissioner Mike Whan led marketing executives, current sponsors and prospective sponsors in a full-blown summit.
How often do we hear that life is about leadership?  Probably not enough…. especially in sports.  Whan “gets it.”  And he knows how to promote what he’s got.
The LPGA is selling itself as a value-brand.... and while some might call it "lower tier" when compared to the PGA TOUR... the new "commish" isn't buying it.. nor is he selling it as such.  And nor should he.

Creamer Moves Needle
Annika and Lorena might be gone.. but as great as they are… and were… one could argue that Michelle Wie and Paula Creamer are at east "on par" as “needle- movers.”  Probably bigger as long as they win.

For the ladies.. it’s a really compelling race for number one in the rankings these days.  For Whan.. it's a race to get sponsors... and build the brand.  To me… it’s not all that hard a sell… so the sponsors might want to jump on board now… before the potential cost in a few years makes it a tougher buy than it is a tougher sell.
